The twin cities of Byran/College Station (pop. 203,000) is located in a pastoral area of Texas. Texas A&M University, a Tier 1 research university and a member of the Association of American of Universities (AAU), has a student enrollment of about 62,000 students.   

Lodging

The official conference hotel is the newly opened Texas A&M Hotel. The discounted conference rate is $139 per room and night. To get  this rate, please book here. The Texas A&M Hotel is located on campus a short walk (2-3 min)  from the conference venue.

There are several cheaper lodging options available. The following hotels (which have a more basic standard compared to the Texas A&M Hotel) are located within a 15-20 min walk from the conference venue. Rates start at $51 per night:

Flights

Texas A&M owns and operates its own airport, Easterwood (CLL). The airport is located on campus, about one mile from the conference site. American Airlines operates five return flights per day to Dallas (DFW); United Airlines operates three flights per day to Houston (IAH).

 

The nearest international airport is George Bush International Airport in Houston (IAH), which is about 80 miles away. Ground Shuttle offers pre-booked rides to and from the airport for $35. Attendees can fly non-stop to IAH from Amsterdam (KLM, United), Paris (Air France), Frankfurt (Lufthansa, United), London (BA, United), Tokyo (ANA), Beijing (Air China), Istanbul (Turkish), Auckland (Air NZ), Taipei (EVA Air) and nearly every major city in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and South America. Most low-cost airlines fly to Houston Hobby (HOU), a smaller airport that is also accessible from College Station with Ground Shuttle. The international airport in Austin, Texas (AUS) is about one hundred miles from Texas A&M University. It is directly connected with London, Frankfurt, Toronto, several Mexican airports, and most major American airports.

If you have not been to Texas before you may wish to visit one of the following tourist areas before or after the conference: Houston, Austin, Dallas, San AntonioGalveston, and Fort Worth. All are within three hours by car from College Station.

Other Events in May 2019

The 9th Annual Values in Medicine, Science, and Technology Conference will take place May 23-25 at UT Dallas. Dallas is a 3 hour drive away from Texas A&M, or 35 minutes by air (about $130).

CEPE is organized by INSEIT (the International Society for Ethics and Information Technology).  The conference theme  in 2019 will be Risk and Cybersecurity.
